Jelly Sandwich Heart (Blood Sugar Low?)

Eat this sandwich to treat a low blood sugar, 25 carbs …

Title and description changed based on blueskydesert‘s recommendation … as I learn more about diabetes (don’t have, but friends that do) …

This was fun, now it’s going to be more fun … for a few minutes … might stop the rumbling!

Dr. Julie Scott of Amomi Spa explains that gestational diabetes occurs during pregnancy related to increased insulin resistance. Another way to look at it is intolerance to the carbohydrates in our diet. This affects between 4% to 14% of pregnancies depending on the population being screened. Some women are at an increased risk for diabetes during pregnancy – first time pregnant, multiple gestation, previous pregnancy affected by gestational diabetes, certain ethnicities and women who are overweight or obese. www.amomispa.com

Some cool cure for diabetes images:

Diabetes365 Day 14 Oct. 21st 2007 – Insulin is life

On an average day I take about 30 units of insulin. That’s 1-3rd of a CC, or about 1/8th of a teaspoon. About half the amount of nutmeg that you’d put in an apple pie.

It’s not much liquid but for me it’s essential to life. I think of the Irish for whiskey – uisce beatha or the water of life.

Because I have Type 1 diabetes, insulin is a little like my water of life. Without this small amount of precious fluid every day, I’d get extremely sick and die within a very short amount of time.

So because I have a broken pancreas I physically carry insulin with me every day of my life.

There is no cure for diabetes. Yet.

Diabetes365 Day 12 Oct. 19th 2007 – Difficult Food

On Fridays we get free bagels and muffins for breakfast. It gives us an opportunity to spend time with colleagues and chat. A really nice idea.

Though I have diabetes I can eat pretty much anything I want. But I find both bagels and muffins are difficult food.

When I eat something that contains carbohydrates I need to take insulin. And bagels, especially yummy ones like this, have a lot of carbs. According to CalorieKing, about 56 grams of carbohydrate for one plain bagel. That’s like two of my normal breakfasts. If I eat one of the bagels I’ll spend most of the morning trying to get my blood sugar levels back under control.

There is no cure for diabetes. Yet.

The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation is the leading advocate for children who have been diagnosed with type one diabetes. Through research, the mission of the foundation is to find a cure for diabetes. The JDF is responsible for funding many centers, organizations, and events to raise money and awareness about the disease and help as many people as children and parents of children who have been diagnosed with the disease.

The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation awarded more than $ 130 million in diabetes research in 2007. The foundation also funded over 650 centers, grants, and fellowships. The foundation is determined to find a cure for the disease and help as many people as possible. The primary funds for the foundation come from parents of children suffering from diabetes and tax deductible donations.

Since 1970, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation has awarded over $ 1 billion to researching diabetes to find a cause for the disease. The Foundation is responsible for the Countdown for Kids magazine, which is a magazine targeting kids with diabetes. This magazine allows for kids with diabetes to read about other kids and how they cope, things they can do, tons of fun facts, and more! This magazine is a great way for children with diabetes to cope with their disease.

The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation has a website also, which is http://www.jdrf.org. This website is a great place for parents and kids to get information about diabetes, things they can do, diets, traveling, tips and tricks, events, and more. This website is a wonderful place, providing a central place for parents to gather all of the information they need about their child’s illness. Events, such as the Walk to Cure Diabetes are listed on the site for people to learn more and be able to attend. Information about clinical trials and the research being conducted to find a cure can be found on the site. A diabetes newsletter is posted also, along with a support team for parents to contact if they need someone to talk to.

The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation has been helping children who have been diagnosed with type one diabetes since 1970. The foundation is committed to finding a cure for diabetes through research and they believe they will be successful.

The Diabetes-Reversing Breakthrough

Try This blog: thediabetes-reversingbreakthrough.blogspot.com I’ll explain with a metaphor. Picture your body as a car, that was designed to function on all-natural, organic, fuel. The car is a living, breathing machine not unlike the human body. For 2 million years, this car has been using fuel such as water / seeds / nuts / grasses / herbs / roots / fruits / vegetables / cereals. diabetes and alcohol THAT’S the fuel it is used to. MOREOVER, THAT’S the fuel its entire system is based upon. It was MADE from that stuff. Then, suddenly, after 2000000 years… that car switches over to — for the last 100 years — a new, modern mixture of: sugar / sweets / biscuits / crisps / chocolate / coffee / coca-cola / fats & oils / cigarettes / alcohol / vinegar / pharmaceutical drugs / chemicals, pesticides, and preservatives (loads of them) / etc. What do you think would happen to this ‘vehicle’? THAT’S RIGHT — IT BREAKS DOWN.
